Topic:Is Management Science Improving Working Conditions on the Workplace?

Speaker:Prof. Olga Battaïa  Higher French Institute of Aeronautics and Space

Time:May 14th, 16:30

Venue: Room 327, Building 7, Zhongguancun Campus, UCAS

Abstract:While addressing the problem of ergonomic risks, most companies take the workload of workers as given and look for introducing specialized equipment and support tools. However, such policies have limited impact in many cases. The use of operations research approaches allows incorporating ergonomics aspects in the planning of the work and shows a high potential for improving working conditions in manufacturing systems. In this talk, we review the available modelling approaches considering ergonomics in operational planning of manufacturing systems and outline future research directions.
